Transparency International (TI) and dozens of civil society groups on Monday called for the protection of whistleblowers during the COVID-19 crisis and urged citizens to make sure governments and corporations are held accountable for their actions during the pandemic.

Two whistleblowers are suing a Gabonese bank for personal damages after revealing its involvement in corruption and terrorism financing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The anonymous source of the Panama Papers leaks, “John Doe,” released a strongly worded manifesto in response to government inquiries into the data leak.
