In 1922 the Velež was established and it plays in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A former director, Samir Ćemalović or “Pika,” is also a current executive board member of the BiH Football Association. Police intelligence has put him on a list of suspects -- though not charged -- involved in illegal trade in narcotics and cars. In mid-December his house was damaged by a bomb.
