Four cartels are battling it out for the lucrative US$1.5 billion dollar avocado trade in western Mexico, the office of a state attorney general has revealed.
Mexican avocado growers ran ads in national newspapers on Friday begging the government to help protect their produce from organized crime as it’s sent for export around the world, local media reported.
Mexican officials said Monday they found at the bottom of a ravine the charred remains of journalist Salvador Adame, who was missing since he was kidnapped six weeks ago.
