A Russian company is suing the French far-right party of Marine Le Pen for not paying back a loan it took to finance its 2017 pre-election campaign, the investigative website Open Media reported on Monday.
A Latvian-based consultant, who has managed the offshores of Russian politicians, has met with at least two high-ranking officials of French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen to discuss her party’s options for a Russian loan, media said Tuesday.
Marine Le Pen’s chief of staff was charged Wednesday after an investigation showed European Parliament money was used to pay staffers of Le Pen’s party.
