Samsung Electronics Overseas (SEO), founded in 1997, is the Netherlands subsidiary of the South Korean multinational electronics company.
Though Laundromat, SEO received over $23 million through 52 transactions from Seabon Limited and three other shell companies between October 2013 and May 2014.
Reporters from the Korea Center for Investigative Journalism contacted SEO multiple times to ask its director, Sungwoong Michael Kang, for comments, but he declined to speak. Cella Sin, a public relations official for Samsung Electronics in the Netherlands, only repeated that SEO cannot confirm any figures due to its internal press policy.
