NK Jedinstvo - Bihać

The football club Jedinstvo from Bihać, organized in 1919, plays in the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1995, war time hero Amdija Abdić, also called “Tiger,” helped reestablish the organization. He is an executive board member of the BiH Football Association. Abdić has been indicted four times on charges involving violent behavior, including brawls, robberies and felony assaults. In October 2007 he was found guilty of robbery and banditry. He and Pivić Emin were tried for an attempt to extort 200,000 DM from Nedžad Bajrić and, when Bajrić refused they beat, kicked and shot him and took his car, watch, cell phone and other valuables. Abdić’s defense was that the international community had engineered charges against him. He remains free and on he board and said he was confident that his appeals based on bad health would continue to keep him out of jail.
