The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) is a global network of journalists who specialize in investigations into transnational crime and corruption.
Starting in October 2021, we are launching a program in the Pacific Islands to promote investigative journalism in the region. The program will include a schedule of training courses in investigative journalism techniques, as well as funding for cross-border collaborative investigative reporting. We will be hiring regional journalists for two full-time positions, as well as providing paid fellowships for journalists who wish to work on investigative projects while learning skills and newsroom grants. We are also accepting freelance pitches.
We are seeking qualified applicants who either live in the Pacific Islands region or have strong ties to the region. They will work with OCCRP’s newly appointed Senior Pacific Islands Investigations Editor, Aubrey Belford, who is based in Sydney. The following opportunities are open:
We will also be accepting submissions from freelancers and regional media for possible investigative collaborations. Please contact Pacific Islands Senior Investigative Editor Aubrey Belford (firstname.lastname@example.org) with pitches. Joint investigations may receive financial support from OCCRP.
