The Mostar football club Zrinjski playing in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina was established in 1905. Miroslav Ćorić, a member of the club’s executive board and also of the BiH Football Association Board, and a former prime minister of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, was arrested on organized crime charges in 2007. Financial Police for the Federation of BiH found numerous irregularities in an audit of the cantonal Ministry of Internal Affairs. Some 741,000 KM, for example, had been paid to ministry officers not on any list of employees. A judge ruled that while organized crime charges had not been proved, Ćorić could be indicted for exceeding the limits of his official authority and damaging the canton’s budget.
