His 2004 TED talk on the subject has been viewed 3.7 million times, and he has written numerous books on themes he describes as “positive psychology.” Csikszentmihalyi is a professor of psychology and management at Claremont Graduate University in California.

In October 2013, Csikszentmihalyi received a payment of $1,750 from Crystalord Ltd., one of the companies active in the Laundromat, with “preparation of documents” listed as the reason. That same month, Csikszentmihalyi spoke at an event at the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management in Russia.

Csikszentmihalyi said he did not recall the payment.
