The club was founded in 1921 under the name SOKO. It is a second division club with no interesting football history or trophies. But the club is famous for its presidents, all of them big criminals, members and leaders of Bežanija criminal clan – and all of them murdered.

Club President Goran Mijatović, nicknamed Mita, was killed by a car bomb in 2006. At the time of his death he was facing sentencing on a conviction of extortion and he had a long criminal history including arrests for, though not convictions for, involvment with the criminal group Zemun, involvement in the attempted murder of a Serbian opposition politician and cocaine shipment.

Club President Radoslav Trlajić, nicknamed Bata Trlaja, was killed in 2000 attacked by men yielding automatic weapons. President Petar Milošević, boss of the Bežanija criminal clan, was killed in 1999.
