Kenyan President William Ruto imposed a curfew andordered the national army to support police forces in the fight against bandits and cattle rustlers in the borderlands of northwest Kenya amid soaring violence that took more than 100 lives over the past six months.

A war of words erupted between top Kenyan politicians on Sunday over a new US$50,000 car that Kenya’s deputy president, William Ruto, attempted to gift to the nation’s new archbishop, Philip Anyolo, during his installation in January.
