The Legacy of Jan Kuciak Webinar

You’re invited to join a webinar commemorating the fifth anniversary of the murder of Slovak journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancee Martina Kušnírová . It will be held on February 22, 2023, at 16:00 CET / 10:00 EST.

Slovak journalist Ján Kuciak, who worked with OCCRP members on a number of investigations, covered one of the most dangerous beats in journalism: The nexus between political corruption and organized crime.

When he was murdered on February 21, 2018, along with his fiancee, Martina Kušnírová, our network leapt into action to expose their killers and continue the reporting Jan was unable to complete. In the past five years, OCCRP has:

OCCRP’s Central Europe Editor Pavla Holcová and Investigace.cz reporter Eva Kubániová — both of whom worked with Kuciak — will discuss the Slovak journalist’s legacy in a live discussion moderated by Ilya Lozovsky, a senior OCCRP editor.

The one-hour virtual event, which will include time for the audience to ask questions, will be held on:
