Engagement Editor

10 October 2019

Location: This position is based in OCCRP’s head office in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Deadline: 25 October 2019

Terms: This position is full-time, pending a standard six-month probation period.

The Journalism Development Network (JDN), operating as OCCRP (the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project), is one of the world’s largest investigative reporting organizations. Headquartered in Sarajevo, and with a staff of over 100 employees around the world, our network of independent media centers in over two dozen countries produces ground-breaking cross-border investigative stories.

OCCRP is looking for an engagement editor who’ll be able to help us tell these stories in a variety of online settings. The goal is for OCCRP’s social media accounts to become another avenue of storytelling, not just a way to promote traffic to our site (though that is important too!) The engagement editor will also develop strategies to ensure that our work is covered by our media partners and a growing array of other outlets.

In-depth investigative journalism of the kind we do — focused on international financial flows, offshore shell companies, and complex criminal schemes — is among the most challenging genres to convey to the broader public. We are seeking someone who can help us shine in this area.

In this position, you will work directly with OCCRP’s core editorial team to set up and execute engagement strategies that will expand our digital outreach and grow our online audience.
