Based in Sarajevo, Michał “czesiek” Czyżewski joined OCCRP in 2016 and is the senior technologist for infrastructure. Previously, he was a web app developer and then worked on system operations within the tech team at OCCRP. His background is in digital rights and privacy activism, and he has worked as an expert and educator for the Panoptykon Foundation in Warsaw, among other roles.
He is a co-founder of the Warsaw Hackerspace and founding member of the ODRON collective, an art and technology space in Sarajevo. In his short breaks from keeping the organization’s web servers happy, he makes music and talks about surveillance capitalism.
